About Us

We dance for Jesus.

AO1 is a hip hop youth and young adult worship dance team based out of the NY/NJ area aiming to do outreach in the east coast. AO1 hosts a variety of outreach events including summer camps, dance programs, workshops, worship nights and retreats.

AO1 was founded in December 2019, after a group of youth were asked to perform for a conference. Since then, AO1 has been bringing together the next generation to dance for God.

AO1 stands for Audience of 1, meaning that our performance and our dance is solely for 1 being, and that is Jesus. Our reason for dance is not to gratify ourselves or to please others; our purpose of dance is to bring glory to God. And our goal is to make this not just apply to our dance but to our lives as well. Everything we do is for an Audience of 1.

Our Focus

We aim to give everyone an opportunity to learn not only how to dance but also how to worship with our all. Movement and praise become one, aligning our spirit and flesh to give glory to God.

Learn.

Taking from what we learn, we provide platforms for our members to further praise God. Whether it is through live performances or filming dance videos, we become vessels for others to experience God as well.

Perform.

The centerpiece and foundation for AO1 is worship. We recognize that everything we do must be wholly dedicated to God and be for God. We take joy in this and dedicate all of our dance for our Savior.

Worship.

AO1 Teams

  • AO1 Move is our young adult team and it’s our newest team as well. The main purpose of this branch is to bring together a community to walk together in faith as we explore more about God while bonding in our dance.

  • AO1 Faith is our oldest group of youth dancers, for upcoming grades 9-12 (high school). You can register for AO1 Faith in our “Program” tab.

  • AO1 Hope is our middle school group of dancers, for upcoming grades 5-8. You can register for AO1 Hope in our “Program” tab.

  • AO1 Love is our youngest group of dancers, for upcoming grades 1-4. AO1 Love practices their dance through our summer camp. Anyone who registers for the summer camp, takes part of this team as well. In other words, AO1 Love’s program is a part of AO1 Summer Camp.

Organizer of AO1

Ruby Kim is the founder and director of AO1 ministry. From 2017 - 2019, she was heavily involved with CSO (Church Support Organization), leading and planning youth worship nights and retreats. Through her time with this organization, God started to reveal the heart He has for the next generation. With this realization, Ruby went on to start AO1 ministry in 2019.

Ruby graduated from New York University in 2022 with a major in Media, Culture, and Communication; and a minor in Dance. Combining her knowledge of media with her passion for dance, Ruby has been able to produce multiple worship dance videos on AO1’s YouTube channel which serves as a library of engaging Christian content for the youth.

Ruby wants to be a part of God’s mission in raising the next generation, to encounter His love and truth. Her prayer is that the youth are able to be raised, to not just be church-going christians, but disciples that are the true salt and light in the world.

Pray for us.

If you believe in our mission and want to help, the first and best we could ask for is your prayer.

  • Revival of the next generation

  • Provision of the right workers

  • Harmony/teamwork in working for the kingdom of God

  • Overflow of love and wisdom in leadership

  • Overflow of joy and the Holy Spirit everywhere

  • Alignment of our hearts, minds, and bodies to truly worship God with our all

  • People to come to Jesus through our dance

  • Safety of all of our dancers
